A group from South Carolina traveled to the National Prayer Breakfast and returned with the conviction that our local government leaders should be purposely prayed for. We are proud to gather together and lift our leaders up in prayer and fellowship with other praying partners.
Committed to finding and encouraging persons to band themselves together to find through Christ a better way of everyday living in order to promote at every level of society – in the home, community, nations and world – a leadership who are themselves led by God.
The South Carolina Prayer Breakfast is not a political event; it’s a gathering of friends from many parts of South Carolina around the person and principles of Jesus of Nazareth. It is comprised of many who do not come together wearing confessional or denominational badges, or standing behind political affiliations or policy priorities, but who gather as friends, seeking the way, the truth, and life in Jesus. Many are finding in the South Carolina Prayer Breakfast and similar gatherings the most meaningful friendships of their lives.
Relationships are a key aspect of the South Carolina Prayer Breakfast and friends. The Person of Jesus Christ is central to our message and it is our hope that each person accepts Jesus into their life and pursues a personal relationship with Him. By having a deep relationship with Jesus it allows us to have meaningful relationships with others.
Jesus' two greatest commandments found in His Gospel of Matthew teach us that we are to "love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind", and then secondly, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." These two important commandments give the groundwork for how a follower of Jesus should live.
Prayer is a way in which disciples of Jesus can fellowship and see the power of Jesus at work by answered prayers. By praying we become more like Jesus, see the heart of God better, and find wisdom for all areas of life. It is a joy and privilege to join together in prayer and see how lives can and will be transformed.
